About Us

Coach Andie

Andie Talmadge is the owner of FIT FUNdamentals and a USAT Certified Triathlon coach. She received her Master of Science in Exercise Physiology in 1999. She has been a Nationally Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor since 1993. She is a national presenter of workshops for fitness professionals and an American Council on Exercise Certified Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant. In the past 15 years Andie has participated in over 100 triathlons of varying distances. She began coaching athletes and non-athletes for competing in triathlons since 2005.

Andie believes that wellness is achieved through a combination of moderate, consistent physical activity, smart eating habits and a positive self image. "Most of us are not athletes but that doesn't mean we can't be strong, fit, sexy and compete in athletic events. In fact — those who have to work really hard to achieve what athletes do so naturally should be extra proud of their labors because it takes a lot more effort, will power and stamina to get there."

Coach Debby

Debby Casson did her first triathlon in 2001, on a rusty mountain bike with old tires.  Since then, she's been hooked!  Though she has a few medals for placing in events, Debby doesn't consider herself a "competitive triathlete."  "I do triathlons primarily to have fun.  It is very motivating to have an event in mind when I'm training and it makes me work a little harder.  When it comes down to it though, I just want that sense of accomplishment after a race -- whether I place in my age group or am closer to the back of the pack."   Debby was the assistant coach for the Albuquerque Team of the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series for three years, and she has been an Assistant Coach for FIT FUndamentlas for four years. She sees her real gift and passion as gently encouraging and motivating beginner triathletes to accomplish that huge goal of finishing their first race. Since moving to Albuquerque in 2003, Debby has added endurance cycling to her passions, riding century rides (100 miles in one day) several times per year.  In addition to triathlons and cycling, Debby teaches math at the University of New Mexico and has a growing math tutoring business.  One of her favorite event memories is the half-ironman she did to celebrate her 40th birthday.
